Our communities want progressive change. We’re looking to support bold progressive candidates whose platforms align with the agenda of formerly incarcerated people and their loved ones.
Mass policing and mass incarceration don’t make our communities safer. In fact, they undermine our families and destabilize our neighborhoods. We need to reconsider the priorities of our city, county and state governments. We need to dramatically shift resources from police departments, prosecutors and jails to careers that actually make our community stronger instead of causing harm in the name of addressing harm. We also need to invest in 21st Century systems of education, housing, healthcare and more.
We know this kind of change needs to happen. The question is who will have the courage to do what is politically unpopular? Who is willing to stand up to the establishment that wants to keep things the way they are?
